I called the library the other day, and the MLA database link is working again. You can access it by clicking on the Online Databases link on our main page, clicking on A-Z, and typing in MLA.
Also, since we'll be talking about Crane and London (last Thursday's
assignment) on Tuesday, here is what we'll be doing on Thursday:
Reports
Native American Autobiography: Eastman, "From the Deep Woods to Civilization" 797-810
Zitkala-Sa, "Impressions," "School Days," and "Indian Teacher" 1105-24
Precis assignment due
Note that we won't be reading the excerpt from Sarah Winnemucca.
If you have questions about your precis assignment, please email or IM or Skype me tomorrow, since I won't be online much tonight (IM and Skype:
drcampbell6676). You can also send me a message through Facebook (same name:
drcampbell6676).
See you on Tuesday!

Since we had Tuesday off, I thought I would send you a message to let you know what we’ll be doing tomorrow.
We’ll begin our class with reports by Kate-Lynne Logan, Kate Quinn, Samantha Zeiner, and Alison Buck. After that, we’ll be discussing naturalism, so I would like you to start by reading the poems by Stephen Crane (available online from our readings page at http://www.wsu.edu/~campbelld/engl481/readings.htm or directly from http://www.wsu.edu/~campbelld/crane/cranepoems.pdf .
We’ll then read “The Open Boat,” saving “To Build a Fire” for last because some of you have read it already.
